John joined Martin & Gifford after founding his own firm and clerking for several judges at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He focuses his practice on real estate litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, and has extensive experience drafting contracts and forms for real estate transactions. John is part of our team that handles disciplinary cases before the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, and he also has broad experience litigating cases in all of North Carolina’s courts, federal court, and the North Carolina Industrial Commission.

In his free time, John enjoys playing soccer, golfing, running, cycling, reading novels, and spending time with his family. He is also the mayor of Clemmons, North Carolina. Having grown up on a farm, John brings a small town, client-focused approach to cases, and he is dedicated to making sure his clients get results.
